Feng Shui Cures by James Turner

There are two very important things you should keep in mind when applying Feng Shui cures. The first and most important thing to consider is knowing exactly what you wish to accomplish before you get started, and the second is to start the process by making small changes until you are certain what effect the changes are having.

Feng Shui offers you no quick cures, to make real changes in your life you will need to have a lot of patience and carefully plan each step you take. You should never make any changes for the sake of change, this may only make your current situation worse. Only apply Feng Shui cures that you have carefully researched, or that have been recommended by a qualified consultant.

Do not overdo any of the cures listed here on this page, Feng Shui is about balance, not extremes. Now that you have been duly warned, here are a few things you can do without fear of causing more problems or aggravating existing problems (if you don't overdo them). These are common cures that will help improve the Feng Shui of any home or office.

  1. Use I-Ching Coins tied together with a red ribbon (to activate their Chi) on the Door Knob or Cashbox/Cash Register. If you do your work online you may want to try placing a group of coins on top of your monitor.

I-Ching Coins can ward off disease and can also increase wealth when used properly. The coins should be used in groups of 3, tie together 3, 6 or 9 coins with a red ribbon to activate their Chi. In ancient China they were used as amulets and worn by small children who added one coin each year until the age of fifteen.

  2. Water is a good Feng Shui cure for the wealth areas of your home, but never in the bedroom. Adding fountains will increase the flow of Yang energy, adding a fish tank offers you a double bonus because water and living animals are both excellent Feng Shui.

  3. Plants are signs of life and excellent Feng Shui cures when they are kept healthy, but dead or dying plants or even dead leaves are bad Feng Shui, as they represent death and decay. Consult reference books or a Feng Shui consultant for proper placement of plants as a cure.

  4. The Chinese dragon is an auspicious symbol in Feng Shui and also in China where Feng Shui originated. The dragon is a protector, bringer of good fortune and too much more to list here, it will take an entire article just to provide a general understanding of what the dragon means to Feng Shui. As a cure you should have a dragon looking at your front door to protect your home, however Chinese dragons are very Yang and should not be used in the bedroom, which should lean towards Yin.

  5. Mirrors are good cures in most rooms, but once avoid their use in the bedroom (invites third parties into the relationship) and also they should not face the front door as this causes Chi to bounce back and out the door, nor should you be able to see the front door in the mirror when seated. Use mirrors as cures in long corridors and kitchens with stoves facing the wall (so you can see behind you).

  6. Use a three-legged toad, also known as a Money Frog to bring money luck into your home. As a cure it should be placed near the front door facing into your home. The money frog jumping into your home symbolizes money luck or financial success entering your home.

Artworks like the ones listed here at FengShuiArtworks.com can also be used as Feng Shui cures. We suggest that you read reliable reference materials or seek the advice of a qualified consultant for proper placement of artworks and other cures.
